Justin Dingwall is a prominent, award-winning South African contemporary fine art photographer and commercial image creator based in Johannesburg. Born in 1983, he is widely celebrated for his theatrical, staged, and surreal portraiture that purposefully challenges conventional notions of beauty, aesthetics, and cultural taboos.Background and CareerDingwall began his career after graduating with a BTech Cum Laude in Photography from the Tshwane University of Technology in 2004. Over more than two decades, his photography has evolved into a deeply symbolic medium exploring themes of identity, diversity, and humanity. His work has been widely exhibited at major local and international platforms, including the FNB Joburg Art Fair and London’s 1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair.
